  • Cowboy Junkies was formed in Toronto in 1985 by Margo Timmins (vocalist), Michael Timmins (songwriter, guitarist), Peter Timmins (drummer) and Alan Anton (bassist). The group's second album, The Trinity Session, and its sotto voce rendition of Lou Reed's Sweet Jane, won them a passionate following. Subsequent albums and tours all over the world have kept Cowboy Junkies on people's minds and turntables ever since. Cowboy Junkies have been heralded as "one of the most versatile, underrated bands of the last 25 years.
