MISSION HILL FAMILY ESTATE NAMED 2007 CANADIAN WINERY OF THE YEAR
Award confirms Mission Hill's reputation for quality and consistency across the entire range of wines and speaks to the considerable investments made in vineyards and winemaking, all in the pursuit of putting the Okanagan wine region on the world stage.

Westbank, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia - November 26, 2007 - Wine Access Magazine, Canada's most respected wine magazine, announced this morning that Mission Hill Family Estate has been named the Canadian Winery of the Year in 2007. Over 800 wines were entered and judged by an esteemed panel of industry stakeholders. This is the second time in the competition's seven year history that the prestigious award has been won by the winery. Jim Tobler, Executive Editor of Wine Access said he was proud the award went to Mission Hill because of the caliber of their wines and leadership in the industry; "Mission Hill has set an international standard for some time now, a true leader in teh Canadian wine industry. And the results here prove beyond any doubt they are doing it with top-notch people and great quality wines."
Anthony von Mandl, Proprietor of Mission Hill Family Estate, was excited to receive the news; "I would like to thank the Wine Access tasting panel for ranking Mission Hill amongst the best in the industry. This honour further validates my vision to establish the Okanagan Valley firmly on the international wine scene." Mission Hill Family Estate is the major private vineyard owner in the Okanagan Valley, with 20 distinct estates. Mission Hill Family Estate wines include the Bordeaux-inspired, iconic blend, Oculus and the Select Lot Collection range which are highly allocated and can be found in top restaurants and wine boutiques around the world.
Dan Zepponi, President of Mission Hill Family Estate, acknowledged that the Winery of the Year award is the culmination of hard work in the vineyards and winery to carefully select and nurture the best fruit for producing top tier wines; "John Simes and his winemaking team set the quality bar high. Minimal handling, hand harvesting and sorting of estate-grown grapes have become an integral part of winemaking at Mission Hill Family Estate." Out of 19 wines entered, Mission Hill Family Estate was awarded 16 medals in the competition.
